Position Overview
The Assistant Teacher will work closely with classroom teachers to support effective teaching and learning across the school. The ideal candidate should be patient, responsible, organized, and enthusiastic about working with students while contributing to a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
The Assistant Teacher will assist in classroom activities, student supervision, learning support, classroom organization, and school programmes while helping ensure that every student receives appropriate attention and encouragement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead/classroom teacher in planning and implementing engaging learning activities.
- Support students during classroom instruction, individual work, group activities, and projects..
- Provide additional assistance to students who require academic or learning support.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment.
- Support experiential, inquiry-based, and activity-based learning experiences.
- Monitor student participation, behavior, and overall classroom engagement.
- Assist with classroom displays, learning resources, teaching materials, and student portfolios.
- Supervise students during breaks, transitions, field trips, activities, and other school programmes.
- Support students in developing positive habits, communication skills, independence, and social skills.
- Assist teachers in assessing and documenting student progress when required.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and other members of the school team.
- Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities, professional development programmes, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Promote and uphold the school's values, policies, safeguarding standards, and child protection practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching qualification or educational training will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience working with children or in a school environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning practices.
- Basic proficiency in digital tools and educational technology.
- Fresh graduates with a strong interest in teaching and learning are encouraged to apply.
